White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake
We’re now well into spring, which is definitely one of the four best seasons. This lovely white chocolate strawberry cheesecake is a perfect treat for celebrating this vernal time of year.
It’s a bit early for fresh strawberries yet, but frozen works just fine! Of course, if you happen to have access to fresh strawbs, you could go ahead and use those instead!
Coconut Cream Banana Bread Cookies
These cookies are a combination of so many wonderful things! Banana bread, coconut cream, and cookies! You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t love any of those things, and these things are all of those things! Raw, vegan, gluten free banana bread coconut cream cookies, and all the ingredients are fruits, seeds, and nuts! Who needs corn syrup??
Red Velvet Bars
Ain’t no food coloring in these red velvet bars! That beautiful hue is all from lovely beets!
Beets might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think red velvet, but really beets are quite sweet and tasty. And throw them together with some medjool dates, all sorts of coconut and a bit of vanilla, and you’ve got yourself an awesome, healthful, raw vegan dessert that everyone will love.
Vegan Coconut Yogurt
Raw vegan yogurt might seem like a contradiction in terms, and yet here it is. And with only three ingredients!
Sure, this recipe isn’t exactly like yogurt. But nothing is. And that’s okay, because this super simple vegan yogurt is pretty awesome in its own right. The probiotic capsules will help invigorate your gut bacteria just like traditional yogurt, and the coconut will give it that smooth texture.
Serve it up with your favorite fruits and berries Maybe a dab of honey. Just like traditional yogurt, its a blank canvas: mix it up however you feel!
Raw Tiramisu Brownies
I’ve never been a coffee drinker, but there’s just something about coffee flavored sweets. I don’t know what it is, since I’ve never liked actual coffee. But it’s impossible not to like these tiramisu brownies.
These things aren’t your average brownie, and they certainly aren’t your average tiramisu. Somehow they’re the best of both worlds. Instead of using ladyfingers as is traditional with this delectable Italian dessert, our chef here has appropriately gone for a layer of coffee flavored vanilla cake.
The fact that these tiramisu brownies have coffee flavored vanilla cake as a layer says pretty much all that needs to be said. Decadent doesn’t seem to do it justice. This the cutting edge of dessert goodness. Part brownie, part tiramisu, you’ll want them all the time.
Caramel Chocolate Pear Tartlettes with Ice Cream
These elegant raw chocolate pear tartlettes are winter festivity incarnated. Just seeing the pictures is enough to get jubilant holiday music stuck in your head. Combining cocoa, caramel, vanilla and the subtle sweetness of pear, these make for some truly delectable confections. As author Juliane Porter says of these decadent chocolate pear tartlettes “they sing holiday carols to our taste buds”.
The vanilla bean ice cream is, of course, optional, but I recommend it. These treats prove yet again that you don’t have to give up anything to gain the benefits of a raw diet. There’s nothing like a cold dollop of ice cream over a sweet and gooey tart to celebrate the winter. And really, there’s nothing like it in the summer or spring, either!
This recipe requires a bit of involvement, which makes it great for those special occasions that call for going above and beyond (Valentine’s day?). But when it’s winter time and it’s cold outside, it’s sometimes worth it to put in a bit of extra time in the kitchen. Especially if you’re making something as beautiful as these raw dark chocolate pear tartlettes. Your loved ones will surely appreciate it, and of course, chocolate has it’s benefits.
Pina Colada Bars
Aside from the interesting story of pineapples and appearance of this fruit, their health and medicinal benefits include their ability to improve respiratory health, cure coughs and colds, improve digestion, help you lose weight, strengthen bones, improve oral health, boost eye health, reduce inflammation, prevent cancer, increase heart health, fight off infections and parasites, improve the immune system, and increase circulation.
Whisk your self away to the tropics with these Pina Colada Bars… Do not fret they are HEALTHY no matter how naughty they look and taste!
Sesame Macaroon Bites
Sesame seeds are an excellent source of copper, a very good source of manganese, and a good source of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, molybdenum, Vitamin B1, selenium, and dietary fiber. Arm yourself this holiday season with healthy snacks like Sesame Macaroon Bites and leave the “holiday weight gain” to everyone else!
Pumpkin Pie Sorbet
If you serve up these cute individual pumpkin pie sorbets, NO ONE will notice the absence of a traditional pie on the table. There’s always a room for dessert if you serve sorbet. The creamy pumpkin sorbet is also rich in Vitamin A that helps form and maintain healthy skin, teeth and bones.
Hazelnut Silk Petit Four
These HAZELNUT SILK PETIT FOUR are a french classic with a jarOhoney twist. This was a product collaboration with Windy City Organics.
A perfect balance of 4 elements: semi-sweet dark chocolate, white chocolate, raspberries and fresh mint. The square base is a smooth, raw dark semi-sweet chocolate kissed with fresh organic mint flakes. The center is the raw HAZELNUT SILK spread mixed with just enough fine grated coconut to create a soft yet slightly chewy center. These two decadent layers are then balanced out with the slightly tart and vibrant fresh raspberry puree. Then we finish this symphony with chiffonade organic mint. ARE YOU DROOLING YET? Well to let you know it DOES taste as GOOD AS IT LOOKS!
