Eat Ahead of Time

If you know you’ll be out for a long time and haven’t eaten in a while, make yourself a meal before hitting the shops. Fruits are loaded with delicious carbs and help make veggie shakes too delicious. Nuts and seeds are also loaded with fats, making them an ideal tummy stuffer.


The single best thing you can do to avoid temptation is to pack food. You will get hungry, and you need to eat. Predict when you’ll be away from a raw snack and carry some munchies to tide you over. Kale chips, flax crackers, dehydrated veggies and fresh fruit are all easy to whip out in a bind.

Make sure you stay hydrated. Thirst can amplify cravings, making it that much harder to resist the smells of freshly baked pretzels. You’d be surprised how many restaurants are willing to accommodate your needs. All you have to do is ask. If you’re at something less formal, like an airport, salads, fruit cups and nut packs are your best bet. Many smoothie places also offer a wider variety of raw mixes.

Being raw these days isn’t impossible. In fact, it’s easier now than ever to stick with uncooked meals to maximize your health and happiness. The holidays don’t have to be the end to your hard work. With the right planning and attitude, they’ll make you enjoy your raw diet that much more.
