Hi, I'm Jasmine Briones, the Sweet Simple Vegan! I am currently a Nutritional Science & Public Health student living in Los Angeles and sharing my passion for health by living a life dedicated to promoting fitness and nutrition through sweet and simple vegan recipes. I initially made the decision to adopt a plant-based diet on a whim. I was a freshman in college who had never once before been exposed to veganism, not even knowing what the term meant. The ‘Vegan Corner’ in my cafeteria sparked my curiosity, and I soon challenged myself to take on a vegan lifestyle.
What drew me to this new way of life was both the improvement of my health, and also, unfortunately, my history with anorexia and bulimic disorder. Veganism allowed me to improve my relationship with food, and learn how to live for health, instead of outward appearance. I became passionate about veganism not only for health reason, but also for ethical and environmental reasons. I not only gained back my confidence and health, but also discovered my new found love for this compassionate and abundant way of living. I found a new appreciation for my life that I had not once seen before, and I have definitely changed for the better.
I felt it was only necessary to share my experience both as a vegan and young woman with disordered eating, to inspire others to consider taking on this beautiful lifestyle both for their health or healing, whoever hey may be. My website was created to inspire others to consider a plant-based lifestyle through my simple and approachable vegan recipes. Most of my recipes contain ingredients that are available to almost all people, and have easy steps to follow. I am focused on just making any impact that I can on the lives of others and hopefully inspire them to take charge of their health.
