Banana Almond Nutmeg Smoothie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup almond milk (unflavored/unsweetened raw organic)
  • 1/2 tsp microplaned whole nutmeg (fresh)
  • 2 bananas (small ripe organic,peel and quarter)
  • microplaned whole nutmeg (additional fresh,to garnish with)
  • 1 cup almonds (whole raw organic,buy whole nuts because they are the best quality thus best quality of milk)
  • 3 cups water (to blend with)

Method
 

  1. In your blender add the ingredients and blend on high for 2 minutes.
  2. Soak your almonds for 14 hours at room temperature in a large mixing bowl with clean water then drain and rinse your almonds.
  3. In a blender, blend the soaked almonds with 1 cup of water until smooth, then blend on high for 1 minute.
  4. Add the second cup of water and blend for 2 minutes on high.
  5. Add the third cup of water and blend for 2 minutes on high.
  6. Strain this mixture in a fine metal mesh strainer, reserve the pulp for other recipes(put into a sealed container in the refrigerator).
  7. Refrigerate your milk in a sealed glass container for up to 3 days.
